چکیده
Abstract Background The concept of instrumentation beyond the apical foramen by small flexible file to prevent blockage is patency. However, this procedure might endow postoperative pain, thus maintain patency or not matter dilemma. Hence, primary objective study was compare pain between and non-patency groups secondary evaluate influence number visits, vitality teeth, group teeth preoperative on post-operative pain. Methods Preselected (n = 178) patients based status pulp were randomly divided into 2 groups, which further treated in either single multiple visits. After exclusion, 160 included. Each 80) subdivided visit 40) visits 40), including vital 20) non-vital single-rooted 10) multiple-rooted 10). Apical maintained with a size 10 K-file during conventional hand filing step-back shaping procedure. Intensity recorded before treatment days 1, 2, 7 after using Numerical Rating Scale (NRS-11). Statistical analysis done Mann–Whitney U test, Spearman correlation Multiple linear regression analysis. Results outcome showed statistically significant difference ( p < 0.05) scores higher 1st, 2nd 7th day follow up. patency-maintained influenced only. Vital 0.02) 1 Pre-operative positive difference. Conclusions Our concluded that maintenance increased Evaluation pulp, tooth revealed as influencing factors for group.

Influence of apical patency and cleaning of the apical foramen on periapical extrusion in retreatment.
This study evaluated the influence of apical patency, root filling removal technique and cleaning of the apical foramen, concerning the amount of debris extruded during root canal retreatment. Forty mandibular incisors were randomly assigned to 4 groups - GIM (n=10), GIIM (n=10), GIPT (n=10) and GIIPT (n=10), which were named according to leaving (I) or not (II) apical patency during canal prep...

This study compares the incidence, degree, and length of postoperative pain in 300 endodontically treated teeth, with and without apical patency, in relation to some diagnostic factors (vitality, presence of preoperative pain, group, and mandible of treated tooth). Of the questionnaires received back, apical patency was maintained during shaping procedures with a #10 K-file in one group (n = 11...
متن کاملThe Impact of Apical Patency in the Success of Endodontic Treatment of Necrotic Teeth with Apical Periodontitis: A Brief Review
Accumulation of soft tissue or dentinal remnants in the apical region is a common event that can cause blockage of root canals. This event can be avoided if apical patency is performed during the root canal shaping procedures. However, there is no consensus on the role of apical patency in relation to the success of endodontic treatment of necrotic teeth with apical periodontitis. Therefore, th...
